Check out all the important luxuries you can expect in your cottage
Check In/Check Out
Check in is 2:00pm. Check out is 10:00am. Subject to arriving guests we are sometimes able to arrange a late check out time. Please ask reception when you book – late check outs need to be arranged the evening before your departure.
Electric Blankets
Winter and Spring can be cool and all the beds have electric blankets. If you are from a warmer climate and not used to them, we advise you turn them on a couple of hours before going to bed. Guests are better alive, not fried, so we also advise you turn them off before you go to sleep.
Heating
All the cottages are equipped with new heat pumps/airconditioners. They heat all the bedrooms. These heaters keep you warm in the winter and cool in the summer. All the cottages also have wood heaters in the lounge for atmospheric touch
Internet
Internet is available from your cottage. From September 2010 we are upgrading to satellite wireless internet throughout the village so please bring your laptop. Although we do understand that some people come to Tarraleah to escape the rigours of modern technology.
Kitchen
The cottages have large, fully equipped kitchens You are welcome to cook yourself meals at any time of the day. All cutlery and crockery is available in the cupboards and we only ask that you wash up after your meal.
Laundry/Iron
The cottages have a separate laundry with all facilities. Please contact reception for washing powder.
Maintenance
Things sometimes go wrong. If something is not working, (ie the roof leaking, the DVD player is on the blink, the oven won't work, etc. ) please call reception and we will do our best to resolve the problem.
Need more blankets?
Tarraleah can get cold at night. Although snuggling in front of the fire is an excellent way to stay warm, there are extra blankets stored in the bedroom cupboards if you need them.
Newspaper
The Mercury is available daily from the Highland Store. If you would like a different paper please let reception know prior to your arrival.
Smoking
All the rooms are non-smoking. We apologise for any inconvenience but we need to adhere strictly to this. Smoking anywhere in the room will incur an additional cleaning charge of the daily rate (we have to take the room out of service for the day). Please feel free to smoke in the garden.
Telephone
Mobiles won't work! Sadly they don't work here in Tarraleah or indeed much of the central highlands. There is a landline in your room. All outside calls are charged and you will be invoiced on departure.
TV and DVD Player
A DVD player is supplied with your TV. There is a comprehensive selection of DVDs for rent from the Highland Store. Televisions are provided in each room. You can receive four stations; ABC, SBS, WIN, and Southern Cross.
Barbeque
You are welcome to barbeque in the garden. We have barbeques available for you to use. Please ask reception and we can have one delivered. Alternatively, there is a BBQ area behind the Great Hall. A great spot for a party.
